A small turned box with extraordinary grain, made from stabilized ice beech. The wood’s naturally light colour and open pores give it a distinctive character, while stabilization helps reinforce the material and makes it possible to work with this unusual wood.
The box is turned on the lathe and topped with a handle made from a violin peg, adding a playful detail that connects the piece to the world of music. Compact and tactile, it’s ideal for keeping small treasures, jewellery or other precious little things.
Finished with hemp oil and my own Cedar & Oak wood wax, the finish brings out the striking grain and natural character of the wood.
